Terms and Conditions for Yard Property’s Annual Photo Competition
Thank you for participating in Yard Property’s Annual Photo Competition 2026. By entering the competition, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Eligibility and Entry Requirements
1.1 Photograph Location
To be eligible, all photographs must be taken within the following local government areas:
- City of Fremantle
- City of Melville
- City of Cockburn
- Town of East Fremantle
1.2 Submission Process
Entries must be submitted via the official Yard Property competition portal and include the entrant’s name, email address, and contact details.
1.3 Multiple Entries
Each entrant may submit up to five (5) photographs in total across all categories. All entries must be original work.
1.4 Previously Submitted Entries
Photographs entered in previous Yard Property competitions cannot be resubmitted.
1.5 File Formats
Accepted formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF.
1.6 Eligible Photos
Photographs taken prior to the competition period may be submitted, provided they meet the location requirements. Images entered into other competitions are permitted.
1.7 Entry Modifications
Entries cannot be changed or edited once submitted.
- Ownership, Rights & Permissions
2.1 Ownership
- The photographer retains full ownership and copyright of all images submitted.
2.2 Licence to Yard Property
- By entering, you grant Yard Property a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your images for competition-related and promotional purposes.
- This includes:
- Promoting this and future photo competitions
- Displaying images on Yard Property’s website and social media
- Marketing materials related to the competition
- Printing and displaying images for the showcase event and in-office displays
2.3 Storage of Images
- Yard Property may store submitted images for archival purposes and future competition promotion.
2.4 Commercial Use
- Images will not be used for commercial purposes (including property marketing or advertising unrelated to the competition) without:
- Prior permission from the photographer, and
- Appropriate credit to the photographer
2.5 Additional Use
- If Yard Property wishes to use an image outside the scope outlined above, we will contact the photographer directly to seek approval.
2.6 Attribution
- Yard Property will make reasonable efforts to credit photographers whenever their images are used.
- Exhibition and Promotion
3.1 Exhibition Consent
By entering, you agree that your photograph may be printed and displayed at the Yard Property Photo Competition Showcase.
3.2 Promotional Use
Your image may be used to promote the competition across digital and print platforms, including website galleries, social media, and email communications.
- Judging and Prizes
4.1 Judging Process
Entries will be judged based on creativity, composition, relevance, and overall quality. Finalists will be displayed at the showcase event.
4.2 Prizes
Prize details will be communicated separately. Yard Property reserves the right to amend prizes if required.
- Photographer Responsibilities
5.1 Original Work
You confirm that your submission is your original work and does not infringe on any third-party rights.
5.2 Permissions
You are responsible for obtaining consent from any identifiable individuals featured in your images.
- Liability
6.1 General Liability
Yard Property is not responsible for any loss, damage, or claims arising from participation in the competition.
6.2 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Yard Property against any claims related to your submitted images.
- Privacy
7.1 Personal Information
Your contact details will be collected for the purpose of administering the competition and related communications.
7.2 Communications
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- Competition Changes
8.1 Modifications
Yard Property reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition if required.
8.2 Force Majeure
Yard Property is not liable for disruptions caused by events outside its control.
- Fair Use Commitment
Yard Property is committed to respecting photographers and their work. This competition is intended as a community initiative, not as a means to source free commercial imagery.
Any use of images outside the scope outlined above will always involve direct communication with and approval from the photographer.
- Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
By entering the Yard Property Annual Photo Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
