Yard’s 6th Annual Photo Competition 2024
We love where we live and we love to share that passion with you!
We’re looking for creative, unique photographs that capture the essence of what makes the greater Fremantle area such a unique part of the world! Landscapes, streetscapes, lifestyle or just people being themselves. There’s a rich and diverse canvas out there waiting for you to photograph and share with us. Here are this year’s categories:
At Home in Your Yard
This category invites photographers to capture the essence of home life within their own yards or outdoor spaces. Whether it’s the warmth of family gatherings, the tranquillity of a garden oasis, or the playful antics of pets, this category celebrates the beauty and intimacy of everyday moments spent at home.
Landscape & Architecture
What makes your local area unique? Photographs submitted to this category should showcase the natural beauty and architecture of our local landscapes. From sweeping vistas and majestic sunsets to historic landmarks and architectural treasures, this category honours the rich tapestry of the greater Fremantle’s natural and cultural heritage.
Lifestyle & Culture
Celebrating the diversity and vibrancy of local lifestyles and cultures, this category invites photographers to capture the essence of everyday life in the greater Fremantle community. From bustling streets and colourful markets to traditional celebrations and cultural practices, this category offers a glimpse into the unique rhythms and traditions that shape local identity.
Kids (12 & Under)
This category is all about capturing the joy, innocence, and boundless energy of childhood. Whether it’s playful moments with friends, imaginative adventures, or candid expressions of wonder and curiosity, this category is only for photographers aged 12 and under.

The top 10 photographs from each category will be showcased at an open invite event following the closing date, where the winners of each category will be announced and awarded their prizes.

Terms & Conditions:
- All photographs must be taken within the City of Fremantle, Town of East Fremantle, City of Melville, and City of Cockburn.
- Entrants using photographs with clearly recognisable people in the photograph must have written consent from those individuals to have their photographs used for the purpose of this competition.
- By entering this competition you give Yard Property and its affiliates permission to publish your photograph on their website, social media pages, newsletter and any other means of marketing under the Yard Property banner.
- You declare that the photograph you have attached as your entry into this photo competition was taken by you and that you own the full copyright of this photograph.
- Each photograph will be judged by a panel. The top 10 photographs from each category will be showcased at an open invite event following the closing date, where the winners of each category will be announced and awarded their prizes.
- Entrants may submit up to 5 photographs as individual entries.
- Entries must have a minimum file size of 500kb.
- Entries close 16th May 2024.
